Waste heat recovery in a laundry care process
Križan, Andrej ; Bobák, Petr (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
Main purpose of this thesis is to explain the issue of waste heat from broader point of view. It´s substantial part therefore deals with various available methods of waste heat utilization and their analysis. Large part of the thesis is devoted to description and usage of heat exchangers, heat pumps and thermal energy storage. The main theme of the thesis is the use of waste heat from industrial laundry room. It also introduces the process of the professional maintenance service along with its specifications and parameters of waste streams from washing machines. Main goal of the practical part of the thesis is to design equipment which could be used to store waste heat from washing machines. This equipment is designed to be used for specific process in NETME Centre laboratory. In conclusion, thesis addresses the propposed equipment from the energetical and economical point of view.
Regeneration of heat and water for paper drying process
Milko, Michal ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Diploma thesis titled Regeneration of heat and water for paper drying process analyzes use of waste hot air ventilated from drying section of paper mill. Moreover is described detailed design process of recuperation heat exchanger, which should be part of regeneration loop of paper mill. Designed heat exchanger is plate-fin crossflow heat exchanger. For deasign is used – NTU method.
Condenser
Juráš, Filip ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The Master´s thesis is dealing with water-cooled condensers and is splitted into three main parts. The first section provides general knowledge about condensers and heat exchangers, including the basic information of hydrophobic surfaces. These surfaces were used during verifying the impact of hydrophobicity on the heat exchange in water steam. The second section describes an experimental testing. It shows the difference between hydrophobic and nonhydrophobic surfaces and their impact on the heat exchange. The third and the last part of this thesis is design and calculation of water-cooled condenser. The design of the condenser is supported by drawings placed in attachement.
Substitution of steam by hot water in heat distribution net
Mužila, Martin ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The work is focused on area of exchanging steam distribution net for hot water one, in central distribution net of Martin’s heating plant. The main subject, which talks about pros and cons in this exchange process, is determination of heat losses which are created on heat distribution net during different operating status. These heat losses are calculated and on their basis some conclusions are concluded. Moreover, new heat exchanger is designed for certain conditions and also mathematical model of distribution net is created, which is suitable for checking different operating status. As a result of the work is technic’s and economic’s analysis of this project.
Energy, economic and environmental analysis of balneotherapy
Miček, Denis ; Horák, Petr (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to point out European Union´s goals such as low carbon economy, mainly future increasing the use of renewable sources as a potential source of energy. Slovak republic has due to its position in central Europe, rich in natural healing sources of water, which are considered as the most perspective sources of renewable energy in this country. The problem was solved as energy, economic and environmental analysis of Balneotherapy at Slovak Heath Spa Piešťany a.s. This analyzation was provided by real experimental measurement of temperature and flow rate and computational simulation of technological devices in opened natural healing water system. Experimentally measured data were afterwards use for elaboration conceptual design of new technological devices in order to increase efficiency of collection energy from potential renewable source of energy. The research shows that with help of new design technological devices connected to existing ones will be possible to cool down temperature of hot natural healing water from 67 °C to 21 °C, which decrease operation costs of Balneotherapy for more than 1 414 € per day. By Slovak republic entering to European Union it was necessary to accept global goals of low carbon economy. This diploma thesis provides an attention on potential energy in natural healing sources of water as renewable source of energy and helps Slovak Health Spa Piešťany to decrease amount of green-house gases released to atmosphere by efficient increasing the use of energy potential in natural healing source of water.
Heat exchanger design
Para, Marcel ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This final thesis deals with the design of the water-water heat exchanger, which is part of the cooling circuit. It contains a detailed thermal and hydraulic calculation. The work also includes a basic construction drawing.
